FindMyPast -15 Dec 2017 – New Genealogy Record Releases & Updates

FindMyPast has the following new records for us this week.

England, Greater Manchester Burials 1570-1990

Nothing like some more parish registers to gladden a genealogy heart! This time it is 50,000 death and burial records from Diocese of Manchester parishes. This collection is a mix of transcripts and images, all indexed of course.

22 Dec 2017 - New Genealogy Record Releases & UpdatesEngland, Greater Manchester Marriages 1570-1936

My friend Jill will be very pleased to see this new record collection – most of her ancestors stayed very firmly in the Manchester area. She is awaiting her Ancestry DNA results – they should have Manchester written right through them !! This part of the Manchester collection are transcripts.

Britain, Histories & Reference Guides

This is rather exciting – 65 volumes of fascinating publications covering a wide variety of genealogy related subjects including heraldry, paleography, geography and more. I haven’t had time to delve deeply into this collection so I can’t tell you more about them, but I think this could be something very useful in family history research.

Northamptonshire Memorial Inscriptions

I’ve spend quite a few days in Hampshire churchyards recording monumental inscriptions. You may be surprised how much information is recorded on tombstones.

Billion Graves Cemetery Index

Another 1.1 million entries added to this collection. If you haven’t used Billion Graves before then do take the time to get to know this collection. Those 1.1 million people added this week have to be someones ancestors. You can pay for a subscription to Billion Graves, but if you have a FindMyPast subscription you get access in with your subscription. Another reason to get a FMP subs.

Don’t Forget that Find My Past Offers a 14 Day FREE Trial Of Their Website.
