I have just been listening to an intriguing programme on the BBC iplayer via the internet, it was on the Green Children of Woolpit. Woolpit is a village in Suffolk an in mediveal times the story goes that 2 children appeared from a hole in the ground talking a strange language and what is more they were coloured green. The programme explores this tale and comes up with some interesting explanations for who these children might be if in fact they did exist and not just a tale to amuse others during the long winter nights.

If you want to know Wikipedia has an entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_children_of_Woolpit
I know this isn’t strictly genealogy, but if these children did exist them they will appear on someone’s family tree! The BBC Iplayer is a great way of catching up on some very good programme that you may have missed when first broadcast.
