Good to see more burials being added to the collection, I have far too many people sitting on my family tree waiting to be buried !

I also found the website of St Mary Bourne church which has a good history of the parish.

Hamble Hampshire old photos

Following on from my post yesterday about the Hamble Local History Society I have found another good website for Hamble. This time it is “Hamble interactive” and they have a great section with old photos of the village.

This is a must look at for those with ancestors who lived or worked in Hamble.

I would love to show a little screen shot of the website, but at the moment for reasons best know to itself Microsoft Livewriter won’t let me attach photos. I’m trying to sort the problem out, but in the meantime you will just have to click on the link and see the site that way Hamble Hampshire old photos

Hamble Hampshire Local History Society

Many years ago I used to have a boat moored on Hamble River and I got to know the village quite well, so I was interested to find this website authored by the local history society.

The site has all the unusual interesting pages such as history, photos and meetings, it also has a handy list of links to neighbouring sites.

So if your people came from this delightful village this is the site for you.

Selborne Hampshire Riots

Selborne Hampshire RiotsIf you have ancestors who were involved in the Swing Riots of 1830 then you will be interested in this website. John Owen Smith gives good background history of the riots that occurred in Selborne, Hampshire.

On the front page of this site there are some good links to history websites for this area of Hampshire.
