London Borough of Sutton cemetery records now online

DeceasedOnline has added all the burial records for the following two cemeteries in the London Borough of Sutton.

  • Sutton Cemetery, off Oldfields Road. Records start 1889
  • Cuddington Cemetery, Worcester Park. Records date from 1902

Burial registers and grave details (names of other also buried in the same plot) are now online. A map showing the plots will be available later.

Merton & Sutton Joint Cemetery in Garth Road is already online.Bandon Hill Cemetery, Wallington will be ready for launching online in early 2014.

So if you have ancestors from London it is worthwhile running their names through the DeceasedOnline search engine. Searches are free, charges are only made for scans of the original registers, grave books, maps and photographs. is a worldwide site which has a English section. Basically this site has cemetery & churchyard monumental inscription transcriptions from a variety of parishes throughout England. It’s all a bit of a raffle, but someone is going to have family featured in these transcripts !!

Birmingham Burials now online

FindMyPast has announced that they have added 12,000 new burial records to their collection. The records come from Handsworth Cemetery, Birmingham and they span 1909 – 2010.

Cotswold cemeteries’ records now on Deceased Online

Burial records for picturesque rural English area added to Deceased Online.

· Approximately 20,000 burial records for two cemeteries managed by Cotswold District Council are now available on Deceased Online

  • Chesterton Cemetery, opened 1872, is located in the ‘Cotswold capital’ Cirencester and Stratton Cemetery (in Stratton, just outside Cirencester) has records from 1888. All records for both cemeteries are available.
  • The records comprise digital scans of burial registers, details of graves and maps indicating the locations of many of the graves.
  • Cotswold District Council is a large area serving a region that stretches from Chipping Campden in the north down to Tetbury in the south west and covering towns such as Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton and Stow-on-the-Wold.
