Now I know that some of the newspapers are already online, but this seems to me to be referring to the FindMyPast project. So many exciting projects going on in the Genealogy World that it’s hard to keep up with it all. So much to look at and so little time !

British Library & Google deal

The British Library has announced that they have established a British Library & Google dealpartnership with Google to allow the digitizing and indexing of out of copyright material held by the library. The material that has been earmarked for this project dates from 1700 – 1870.

Wooo Hoooo!! This is fantastic news for genealogists as the British Library is a treasure trove of material for the family historian.

The British Library & Findmypast have joined together to bring millions of records to the internet. The records come from the libraries collection of BDM’s from India and the UK Electoral Rolls up to 1932. These records will be of great help to genealogists especially the electoral rolls as they can be used in lieu of census not yet released.
