Hi Jimi,

I have located Samuel Knowles on Ancestry’s Criminal Registers and it states that Samuel was guilty of Larceny and was sentenced to transportation for 7 years. The Nottinghamshire Record Office might have further court records which may have more information about Samuel’s crime. They are at http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/archives/
