More Bolton Cemeteries Online

More Bolton Cemeteries OnlineDeceased Online have just added to their collection the 6th of Bolton’s seven cemeteries, this time it is the turn of Westhoughton Cemetery which is, unsurprisingly, in Cemetery Street, Bolton. The records date from 1858 and includes the 1910 Pretoria Pit Disaster Memorial where the 344 miners who lost their lives are commemorated.

The records available are

  • Grave Registers
  • Cemetery Map

The last of the Bolton Cemeteries, Horwich, will be added shortly and then the records for Bolton’s Crematorium will be placed online.

The seven Cemeteries and one Crematorium that make up the Bolton Collection are

  • Astley Bridge Cemetery, opened 1884
  • Blackrod Cemetery, opened 1887
  • Farnworth Cemetery, opened 1876
  • Heaton Cemetery, opened 1879
  • Horwich (Ridgemont) Cemetery, opened 1928
  • Tonge Cemetery, opened 1856
  • Westhoughton Cemetery, opened 1858
  • Overdale Crematorium, opened 1954
