The society offers meetings for those who live in or close to the county, a regular journal and publications such as early wills transcripts and poor law papers. Research in this county is helped by the fact that all the pre 1812 parish registers have been transcribed, indexed and published. The Bedfordshire Family History Society sells these transcription in fiche form, but have now started publishing the transcripts in CD format, each CD will contain one parish with transcripts, MI’s, photos and other information.

Mid Norfolk Family History Society

Mid Norfolk Family History SocietyThe Mid Norfolk Family History Society was formed in September 1994 and is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies. Our local members have an interest in Family History in general but do not necessarily have genealogical links to this part of Norfolk. However, we have a large number of distant members with interests in Mid-Norfolk and we aim to assist in their research by collecting and recording family history information from within an area of approximately 10 miles around Dereham.
