Hi How would I find a death date for an ancestor of mine, Howard Clement Griffiths,I know he was born in 1869,in Bilston. His father was Dr. Francis Griffiths MD and surgeon.

He married in 1897, to Amy Paddison, and was in the 1901 census living separate from his wife and family, and with his brother and family in  Croydon. She was down as a hotel manager, with the children.

He is not in 1911 census and his wife is listed as widow, with another partner and in another Hotel. I have all the census and other records, certificates etc. until 1901, and for wife and children, until 1985.

I can't find a death for him, but I found a Howard Griffiths, emmigrating to South Africa in 1903 on the "Doune Castle" his occupation is on the ships  passenger list as inn keeper. He was a chemist, but his wife was a hotel proprieter in 1901.Maybe a connection??I know there are lots of Howard Griffiths, but I'm looking anywhere at the moment for a clue.

Cheers, HollzyConfused
